FCV International Football Academy has organised a trial day for aspiring midlands-based footballers who would be interested in joining FCV Academy as a day student in September for the 2022/23 season.
The event is taking place on 19th May and is open to 16 to 18-year-old boys who are within a commutable distance to FCV Academy’s new 66-acre home in Leicestershire – the Grace Dieu estate.
During the open event players will enjoy informative talks from FCV Academy’s leading staff members both on and off the field. They will then play in a trial game in the evening at local club Coalville Town Football Club in front of coaches, with FCV Academy scholarships available for stand-out performers.
FCV Academy was founded 15 years ago as the UK’s first private football academy and prepares aspiring footballers for the professional level of the game through expert coaching and education courses.
Coalville Town currently play in the Southern League Premier Division Central – the third tier of non-league English football. The semi-professional club is fewer than 10 miles from FCV Academy at Grace Dieu.
Day students at FCV Academy will gain an elite football experience at a reduced rate due to not requiring onsite accommodation. They will be able to study the BTEC Level 3 Sport Coaching & Development course at either foundation diploma, diploma, or extended diploma level.
As part of the course, players will also take part in trial days, showcase opportunities, and competitive matches for FCV Academy teams while learning from high-level coaches – including guest coaches from England’s top professional divisions.
Graham Starmer, Managing Director at FCV Academy, said: “We know that Leicestershire and the surrounding counties are passionate about the game and are home to some very talented players, so we are looking forward to meeting everyone who attends our open event at Coalville Town.
“This will be FCV Academy’s first open event for prospective students at our new home and we strongly encourage anybody who would be interested in joining in September as a day student to come along on 19th May.
“Thank you to Coalville Town for hosting the event’s football game and for sharing the same excitement to providing opportunities for aspiring footballers to thrive in our local area.”
There will be scholarships for a two-year course available for six players who impress during the game, and the event is open to 28 players so please sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.
Those who are not offered a scholarship after the event will still be able to join the programme as a day student.
Players can register for the event by emailing recruitment@internationalfootball.academy with their name, date of birth (players need to be 16 years old by 1st September 2022), playing position, and information on current club.
