We are thrilled to announce that three current and former FCV Academy players were called up to represent their countries in the recent CONCACAF Nations League match between Antigua and Bermuda on Tuesday, 10th September 2024. The match saw Bermuda come out on top with a 1-0 victory.
FCV graduates Milai Perott (Goalkeeper) and Zhani Burgess (Defender) proudly represented Bermuda, while current FCV Goalkeeper Shahoi Dorsett earned a call-up for Antigua. Although none of our players managed to get on the pitch during the match, their selection for their national teams is a huge achievement, and we couldn’t be more proud.
We caught up with goalkeeper Milai before the game to hear his thoughts, and here’s what he had to say: “First of all it’s a proud moment for my family and I, a lot of hard work has been put in to receive my first international call up. It was always a dream and goal of mine to be apart of the national team and now that I’m here I feel like I belong. Not nervous just excited. My preparation for the games and the training camp in general; is to make sure I’m training at a very high level every session, but also pushing and encouraging the other goalkeepers to make sure they’re ready for the game.”
It’s an incredible honour to see our players on the international stage, and we celebrate their hard work and dedication. Moments like these reflect the growing talent within our academy, and we look forward to watching their continued progress.
Congratulations, Milai, Zhani, and Shahoi, for this fantastic milestone! Keep making us proud!
