Loughborough College is a world-renowned centre for sporting excellence established in 1909 and has a proud and long-standing reputation. Providing an outstanding level of high quality teaching and training across the UK to over 11,000 students, studying at Loughborough College means far more than just gaining a qualification.

In 2016, Loughborough College sent 32 of its student athletes to the Rio Olympics and Paralympic Games, bringing back a total of 14 medals including six golds.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) at Loughborough College

Over £30 million has been invested into the College campus over the last three years in order to provide the very best teaching techniques at Loughborough College. The Hub opened in 2014 and is a modern complex with excellent dining facilities and a range of student support services all under one roof at the heart of the College campus.

A top-class Fitness and Sports Centre hosts a teaching gym, sports hall and sports analysis suite. Students studying sport also have access to The Pavilion – a dedicated teaching and coaching environment – and on-site athlete consultation rooms, as well as the Radmoor Centre’s sports hall and gym.

In its most recent OFSTED rating Loughborough College received a Double Outstanding for sport provision, commenting that Loughborough’s curriculum is very well developed and flexible, including very strong partnership work, to meet the learners’ needs and their ability range well.

English Language at Stamford Academy

Founded in 2005, Stamford Academy is a family-owned language school located in the heart of Stamford. The Academy specialises in the provision of English language courses for students from overseas.

In 2010, following a comprehensive independent inspection, the school gained recognition with the British Council as an accredited provider of quality English Language courses. The school is also certified by Cambridge ESOL as a preparation centre for their range of English Language examinations.

The school has four purpose-built classrooms, each ideal for accommodating groups of up to twelve students – though many of the classes are capped at ten, as small class sizes are essential for students of any subject to fully engage in, and benefit from, the learning experience.

AS and A Levels including Business Studies

International Football Academy are able to offer players the opportunity to take an AS and A Level Business Studies qualification to support their BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma course. The AS and A Level in Business Studies qualification is awarded through the AQA Examinations Board.

International Football Academy uses qualified tutors through its academic partnerships to come on site and deliver the course. Players will study towards the AS Level Business Studies exam in year one and on successful completion of this, will then progress towards the full A level in the second year.

International Football Academy can also offer additional A level provision through online and distance learning, via the National Extension College. Additional support is available through a variety of qualified private tutors, with lessons also taking place on site at the academy.
