Clean Sheet on International Debut for Milai Perrot

Milai Perrot was called up to represent the Bermuda U20 national team back in October as part of the CONCACAF tournament.

Two keepers were called up meaning Milai  would have to wait until the second game to make his debut. Perrot seized his opportunity getting a clean sheet in a 3-0 win against St Vincent and the Grenadines, earning the number 1 spot for the final game.

The third game was against competition favourites Puerto Rico whose population is 50 times more than Bermuda. Unfortunately, Bermuda couldn’t pull off an upset losing the game 6-0, which knocked them out on goal difference. This hasn’t deterred Milai from his goals and now has his sights set on representing Bermuda’s first team. “Although I won’t be able to represent the U20s again, I can still represent the first team and that’s my aim.”

Milai returned to FCV with a clean sheet and an assist in ECFA game against Brooke House College. It was a hard earned clean sheet with a string of saves throughout the game helping FCV climb to second in the table.

“It’s been a great start to the season for me and I feel like a much better player since the beginning of the season. My experiences with FCV and the national team have really helped me develop.”

FCV’s goalkeeping coach Ashley Foulgar had this to say on Perrot – “Since joining the academy, Milai has put in hard work on the training pitch and shown his qualities in matches. He fully deserved his call up and if he continues to show the desire to develop his skills and techniques, I’m sure he will be in the conversation for another international call up in the future.”
