Milai Perott’s Journey to Professional Football

We are delighted to announce that FCV Graduate Milai Perott has signed his first professional contract with Notts County FC, following a successful year in the club’s B Team.

Goalkeeper, Milai joined FCV in 2021, enrolling onto our football and education program. During his time here, he played for our Category 1 team for both years while pursuing his studies on site at Grace Dieu Manor Park.

Head coach Shane Clarke shared his thoughts: “Watching Milai develop as a player and a person has been truly rewarding. We are all excited to see where his career will take him.”

International Call up & First Team Experience

Milai’s exceptional performances with the Category 1 team quickly caught attention and earned him a call-up to Bermuda’s Under-20 squad. In his debut match, he impressed by keeping a clean sheet, showcasing his skill and potential on an international stage. His performances also earned him a place at FCV Grace Dieu, our senior team. Milai played a crucial role in the team’s promotion campaign, contributing significantly by keeping 8 clean sheets in 14 appearances.

The challenges of facing higher levels of competition and dealing with increased physical demands have greatly enhanced his growth into a top-quality Goalkeeper.

Pathways to Professional Football Trials

At FCV, we’re proud to help young players like Milai succeed in football. His recent move to Notts County shows how we prepare young footballers for professional football. We have strong connections with many professional clubs across England and Europe as well as our own FCV Grace Dieu Men’s team, offering our players great opportunities to showcase their talents and get trials or placements. Our training programs, personalised coaching, and partnerships ensure that aspiring footballers have a wide variety of different pathways to pursue their dreams in the sport.
