Activities at FCV Academy

At FCV, in addition to our daily football and education programs, we regularly take our players on a variety of excursions throughout the season. These outings are organised to ensure our players have fun, build connections outside of football, and strengthen their team bond. Read on to learn more about some of our recent trips.

Woodlands Adventure

Our players recently had a fun and action-packed day at Woodlands Adventure, taking part in a variety of team-building activities. The day began with archery, where they practiced their aim and took part in some friendly competition. This helped set the mood for the day, as everyone enjoyed the friendly competition while trying to hit the target.

Next, they tackled the assault course, which tested their strength, speed, and teamwork. The course was tough, with different obstacles like climbing walls and crawling through tight spaces. It required the players to support and encourage one another, showing the importance of working together as a team.

After that, they got to try spear throwing, which needed a lot of focus and accuracy. The players had fun challenging each other to see who could throw the best, adding a light-hearted and competitive spirit to the day.

The day ended with raft building, where the players were split into groups and had to build their own rafts using limited materials. This activity tested their creativity and problem-solving skills, as they had to figure out how to make a raft that would actually float. Once the rafts were built, they got the chance to test them on the water, which brought plenty of excitement and laughs.

Overall, it was a thrilling and rewarding day that helped our players grow closer as a team. They improved their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while having a lot of fun along the way.

Ninja Warrior Experience

Our visit to Ninja Warrior Leicester provided yet another thrilling and action-packed experience for our players. Inspired by the popular TV show, the venue featured an impressive range of challenging obstacles designed to push the limits of their physical abilities. From the moment they stepped into the arena, the players were eager to tackle the different courses that tested their balance, strength, and coordination.

The obstacles varied in difficulty, with some requiring careful footwork and agility to navigate narrow beams and unstable platforms, while others demanded upper body strength to swing from one bar to the next or climb steep walls. Each challenge required focus, determination, and a willingness to push beyond comfort zones. As they moved through the courses, the players had to quickly adapt to new situations and develop strategies to overcome each obstacle.

The visit to Ninja Warrior not only tested our players physically but also mentally, as they learned to stay focused and motivated even when faced with tough challenges. It was an excellent opportunity for them to develop key skills like perseverance, adaptability, and problem-solving—all while having a great time.

Chesterfield vs Notts County

To give our international players a real taste of English football, we took them to see an exciting match between Chesterfield and Notts County. The game was filled with action and ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Chesterfield started strong, taking the lead twice in the match. The first goal came from Paddy Madden, and later, Will Grigg scored to put them ahead again. However, Notts County didn’t give up easily. They quickly equalised with a goal from Alassana Jatta early in the game.

The excitement reached its peak in stoppage time when David McGoldrick scored a dramatic last-minute equaliser for Notts County. This made the match even more thrilling, and it turned into an unforgettable experience for our players, who got to see the passion and energy of English football first-hand.

Nottingham Forest U21s vs Brighton U21s

To give our players more experience with high-level football, we took them to watch a match between Nottingham Forest U21s and Brighton U21s. This was a great opportunity for our players to see how young professionals play the game.

The match showcased the talent and skill that these young athletes possess. They witnessed the speed, teamwork, and technical abilities required to succeed at this level. Our players could see how hard these young players worked and how they communicated on the field.

By watching this game, our players learned about the level of dedication and effort needed to become successful in football. It was an eye-opening experience that helped them understand what it takes to compete at a high standard in the sport.

We organise these excursions to expose our players to a variety of physical challenges and professional environments, helping them grow as individuals and as a team. Activities like team-building exercises, obstacle courses, and football matches allow them to develop crucial skills such as teamwork and problem-solving. Additionally, experiencing live football games gives them insight into the level of play they aim to reach, motivating them to improve. These trips are all aimed at pushing our players toward their football goals.
