From Sunday, December 8th to Sunday, December 15th, FCV Academy welcomed a group of young football players from Zimbabwe for a week. The visit was filled with football matches, training sessions, and an exciting trip to Old Trafford.
During the week they played a competitive friendly match against a local team, visited Old Trafford to explore the history of Manchester United, and took part in an in-house football tournament that mixed players from both teams. They also trained daily with FCV’s coaches, improving their skills and tactics, and enjoyed spending their evenings at FCV in our on-site accommodation and players hub.
Event organiser Bekhimpilo Nyoni had this to say about his experience at FCV:
“The hospitality provided by FCV was outstanding, complemented by excellent food and efficient transport. The boys had a fantastic opportunity to enhance their social skills and forge friendships with academy players. The well-structured drills and advanced techniques not only helped instil strong work ethics but also contributed to their improved physical fitness, endurance, and skill levels.
The training methods and facilities offered by the FCV coaches were very good, providing a professional and advanced environment for development. Additionally, the boys had the memorable experience of touring Old Trafford, which was a highlight of their time with FCV.”
A parent of one of the players had this to say: “The soccer tour went very well and I would like to thank the staff at FCV for taking care of our boys and even us parents who were just there to support. They even provided transport for us to to go and support the matches they had. What great hospitality!
The biggest highlight of our trip was the tour of Old Trafford, all the boys, coaches and us parents were very delighted to take part. As for the matches they had, I’m sure they all got a lot of experience playing chilly weather and different environment all together. It was certainly an eye opener to all. Thank you to the organisers.”
