FCV Players Receive Lifesaving CPR Training

FCV is proud to have hosted The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust for an essential CPR and defibrillator training session, equipping our players with the skills to respond to sudden cardiac emergencies. We extend our sincere thanks to the Trust for their time and expertise in delivering this vital training.

Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time—even young, healthy athletes in peak condition. In such moments, every second counts. Having the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR and use a defibrillator can make the difference between life and death. Through this training, our players learned how to recognise the signs of cardiac arrest, administer chest compressions effectively, and operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) with confidence.

The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust was established in memory of Joe Humphries, a talented and active young man who tragically lost his life to sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS). The Trust works tirelessly to raise awareness of sudden cardiac conditions and provide lifesaving training to individuals and organisations across the UK. Their visit to FCV reinforces the importance of CPR education, ensuring that more people are prepared to take action in critical situations.

We encourage all clubs, teams, and individuals to learn CPR and basic life support skills. You never know when you might need to save a life.
