Mayowa’s journey with us began in January 2023 when he enrolled in our Football with Education course. Right from the start, his potential was evident. The Nigerian defenders’ impressive physical attributes, defensive skills, mobility, and precise passing set him apart. These qualities didn’t go unnoticed, and it wasn’t long before Mayowa was making waves at FCV.
Mayowa’s dedication and hard work saw him quickly progress to the top team at FCV. His performances on the pitch attracted attention from scouts representing multiple professional English clubs. In his first full season, Mayowa’s development was nothing short of remarkable. His contributions on the field earned him both the Coaches Player of the Year and the Players Player of the Year awards, a testament to his skill and influence within the team.
Following his stellar season at FCV, Mayowa took his talents to Portugal, where he had trials with two Primeira Liga sides. His impressive displays during these trials led him to choose C.F. Estrela da Amadora, a club that finished 14th in the 2023/24 Primeira Liga season. This move marks a significant step in Mayowa’s career, providing him with the opportunity to compete at a higher level and make the steps into professional football.
