A Summer to Remember at FCV International Football Academy

We were delighted this year to see our summer camps at FCV International Football Academy busier than they’ve ever been before. Over four fantastic camps, we welcomed players from across the globe, including groups travelling all the way from Antigua and Nigeria, who added to the rich international flavour that makes FCV such a unique place to train and play.

Football, Development and Competition

The heart of every FCV summer camp is football and this year the programme offered players the perfect balance of professional-level training and competitive matches.

  • Each day featured two training sessions, where players worked on a variety of areas including technical skills, tactical awareness, physical conditioning and match-related practices.

  • Every camp also included a series of matches, giving players the opportunity to showcase their ability and apply what they had learned in realistic competitive settings.

  • The coaching team worked closely with each participant to provide individual feedback, encouraging improvement in both skills and game understanding.

This consistent mix of training and matches created an environment where players could test themselves, gain confidence, and grow over the course of their stay.

Unforgettable Trips and Experiences

Alongside football, this year’s summer camps featured an exciting program of trips designed to give players a true taste of life in the UK.

  • Stadium Visits – Participants had the chance to walk in the footsteps of some of the world’s greatest players with tours of Anfield, the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and the Etihad Stadium. Exploring these iconic venues was both inspiring and motivational for those with ambitions to play at the highest level.

  • Leisure and Team Bonding – Away from the pitch, players enjoyed trips to Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and the West Midlands Safari Park. These excursions provided the perfect chance to relax, have fun and build friendships with fellow players from around the world.

A Truly International Camp

One of the standout features of 2025’s camps was the global mix of players. Athletes travelled from Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia and beyond, bringing together different cultures and footballing styles.

The friendships built across these camps went far beyond the game, with players sharing experiences, learning from one another, and embracing the opportunity to be part of FCV’s international community.
