Two of our academy players, Sidney and Rufus, recently represented the English Colleges National Team in an international tournament in Italy, showcasing their talent on a prestigious stage.
Their journey to selection was no easy feat, requiring them to progress through multiple trial phases before earning their place in the squad. Once in Italy, they competed in a challenging tournament, playing four matches against teams from around the world.
The team secured victories against Canada (4-0) and San Marino (2-0) but also faced defeats against the USA (3-2) and in the final, where they fell 2-1 to a strong Italy side.
Sidney and Rufus played key roles throughout the tournament, gaining invaluable international experience and proving themselves at a high level. Their performances reflect the hard work they have put in to reach this stage.
