Quarantine period reduced + UK first to start Coronavirus Vaccinations

With the recent news of vaccinations in the UK having commenced and quarantine rules to be reduced FCV Academy is seeing an increasing demand for courses during 2021.

The full-time courses combining football with the BTEC Sport Studies for 16 – 18 year olds and short courses offering intensive football programmes for 15 – 21 year olds have seen an upsurge in bookings and Graham Starmer, Managing Director, believes this is due to recent positive news about the fight against the pandemic.

“We have noticed just as many students wishing to commence the full-time courses are now joining us in January as much as the more traditional September start and the fact we have been open and operating as normal since September we think has given families and players the confidence to come over. We also believe people are showing more of a positive attitude and to start making plans again.

In terms of the short courses these were affected by the quarantine period however with these now being reduced and testing to be introduced we have seen players booking these and looking to join us between January to May next year.”

The new quarantine rules only require 10 days of isolation, this can be reduced further by taking a test after 5 days test results can be provided after 24 hours at which point, providing students test negative, they can end their quarantine period. This will incur a charge.

FCV can offer all students returning or commencing the full-time course in January the following:

Monday, January 4th – Arrive

Saturday, January 9th – Covid-19 test

Monday, January 11th – Commence football course providing tested negative

Please note for all students doing education with FCV they will be able to participate in this during the week of Jan 4th – 9th. It will only be football that students won’t be able to participate in until they have finished the quarantine except those, of course, from countries not required to quarantine when entering the UK. All accommodation and meals will be included.

For all students joining us after January 4th on a full-time or short course please contact us for advice on the quarantine period.
