Meet FCV Academy’s residential scholarship winner – Joseph Moore
Born and raised in the shadows of Celtic Park in Glasgow, Joseph Moore has decided to make the move south of the border and join FCV Academy as a full-time residential student.
The Scottish youngster has spent the last season with Alloa Athletic and has been a key player for them, scoring 15 goals and providing a further 10 assists for his team-mates.
Moore is keen to see what opportunities are on offer in England though, and he believes FCV can provide the platform for him to be seen by the best, as well as improving him as a player.
“The standard of football at FCV is much better than what I’m currently playing,” Moore explained.
“That’s among the reasons that helped me make the decision to accept the scholarship. The coaches are brilliant too, and the Academy is constantly providing the opportunity to get seen – that’s something I don’t get much of at the moment.
“The training is intense at FCV and really pushes you as a player. The coaches are great with you – when they see mistakes in your game, they’ll correct you, and show you what you need to do to rectify them."
The striker will join the Academy on a full-time basis from September onwards, after winning the opportunity against stern contenders through the Academy’s competition in association with FourFourTwo.
He joins the winner of the day student scholarship Luke Oswick in the squad for next season.
