Three FCV players attended a series of assessments, tests and trial matches at University of Northampton recently in the presence of several scouts from pro clubs.

Iwo Karacayli, Archie Wallace and Liam Merrick joined over 20 other players, most who have been released by EFL clubs, for a series of assessments including testing of power measurements, agility, speed, acceleration and aerobic testing.

The event was organised by Pitch in association with the University of Northampton who FCV have been looking to work with recently and this opportunity will provide the FCV trialists with scouts and coaches’ assessment of their performances on the day and if, successfully selected, will be invited back to a further trial day in July this year.

Archie Wallace said “This was professionally run and a great experience for us – some of the other players had only recently been released by the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City and some of the testing was quite challenging. It really helps our development and hopefully we may be invited back for further opportunities”

FCV hope to be able to offer other players this opportunity throughout next season alongside the opportunities FCV currently offer through it’s showcase matches and UK football trials.
