FCV Academy student impresses during trial with professional club
FCV Academy student Darian Daghero has spent the last two weeks on trial with professional English club Peterborough United.
Darian, who plays as a midfielder got the opportunity after coaches at FCV Academy recognised his development over the last 12 months. Our coaching staff were able to secure him the trial by utilising their vast contacts within football and give him the opportunity to go and train with the League 1 side.
FCV Academy Coach, Grant Brown, has been working with Darian over the last year and is not surprised at the interest shown by Peterborough United.
“Darian is a very good young player, he can pick a pass, he’s very athletic and he can strike the ball well. He knows when to get back and defend and works hard in training.
He has all of the attributes you need to be the modern-day midfielder.”
The coaching staff at Peterborough United have been impressed with Darian’s effort and ability during his time with them and have invited him to attend a further trial early next year.
FCV Academy pride itself on providing opportunities for our players and hope that Darian can follow in the footsteps of our previous students who have gone on to sign professional contracts once graduating from our academy.
