Cooper joins FCV management team
FCV International Football Academy are delighted to announce Ian Cooper will be commencing his role of Head of Education and Residential Operations from September.
Ian brings with him extensive experience in the public and private sector, where he has worked as a Lecturer, Course Manager, Regional Curriculum Manager and most recently Head of Employability working alongside Premiership Rugby
Ian began his teaching career in the private sector working with the NEET (not in education employment and training) group, helping young people develop their personal and social skills to enable them to find employment. Ian swiftly progressed to regionally managing a Work Based Learning team nationally, helping employees gain English and Maths qualifications.
Ian then spent the next four and a half years working at Moulton College as a Lecturer in Sport and Fitness whilst managing a range of different courses, including FCV. Continuing in the public sector, Ian moved across to Loughborough College to lead the Elite Sport BTEC programme, managing both remote and on site teams, alongside this Ian also worked as a Standards Verifier for Pearson Education, working with colleges to ensure both quality and compliance. Whilst at Loughborough Ian worked directly with FCV assisting in their move over to Loughborough.
After a six year gap Ian moved back into the private sector working for SCL as a Regional Curriculum Manager, where he has instrumental in the growth of the companies study programmes in both the Midlands and the North, over the last 18 months Ian has been a Head of Employability. In his time leading the division Ian was influential in gaining the sole educational contract to deliver at all 13 Premiership Rugby clubs. Working alongside his team and each premiership rugby club, the programme experienced significant growth, whilst continuing to develop the quality of the provision – this was reflected through learner numbers, retention and success rates.
“Ian brings with him wide-ranging educational knowledge, passion, determination and unrelenting drive. I know how much he is looking forward to working with all at FCV, ensuring the educational experience is continually evolving, providing an outstanding and unique educational experience. ” commented Managing Director, Graham Starmer.
“We continue to build on the academic options available to our students with more degrees and distance learning options being added to the BTEC and language courses we have traditionally offered.
Ian will be able to guide and support students and families through these options and we are delighted he is joining the team.”
