Diushembiev’s International Call Up
Unfortunately due to Baitik late call up into the U21's, he was unable to play in the tournament as the squad had already been officially named. Diushembiev was still heavily involved in the squad training sessions and featured in the three friendly fixtures prior to the competition.
Baitik said “The first day of training wasn’t that intensive, we began more on tactical positioning. I only knew two players in the squad, as I had played with them previously. The atmosphere was great, everyone was so disciplined and focused.”
“After the first three days we travelled to Taraz City in Kazakhstan to face two of their premier league sides. I came on in the second half of both games, as we had 22 players in the squad. We won both games by the same score line 2-0, which was a great feeling."
“We were given two rest days after these games, to return to training refreshed. This time it was a lot more intense as we were getting closer to the tournament. We had one more warm up match with me coming on in the second half again, this time it finished 0-0. The selected players all then flew to Qatar, as a few of us stayed behind to continue training. This was a lot more individual technique work.”
“I enjoyed the whole experience and wish team the best of luck, I hope I am considered for any future games or competitions.”
